Many Eclypse analyzers come with a High Voltage (HV) Stimulus Key on the front or rear panel of the unit. When this key is in the “ON” position, the internal HV stimulus power supplies are enabled and the analyzer is capable of testing with HV Stimulus. When the key is in the “OFF” position, the internal HV power supplies are physically locked out to prevent any stimulus output greater than 28 volts. This is a safety lock-out device for when the analyzer is used in environments where high voltage is hazardous.

The alignment function (found in ELITE under TOOLS on the menu bar) provides users with a method to verify the analyzer is operating within proper tolerances. Unlike ELITE “Self Test”, alignment focuses on the accuracies of stimulus output of all power supplies and measurement accuracies of all devices and ranges. Alignment requires the use of an external Alignment Tool (supplied with each analyzer) that has been calibrated (verified) by a qualified Metrology lab.

The Self Test function (found in ELITE under TOOLS on the menu bar) provides users with a method to verify all analyzer functions are in operating condition. Unlike ELITE “Alignment”, Self Test focuses verifying all features and matrix boards are operating properly. If any part of the analyzer fails to perform correctly, the results of Self Test include steps that an operator can take to remedy the problem.

No. Each Eclypse analyzer is supplied with an “alignment tool” that contains precision fixed values. Operators use this tool when performing periodic alignment to validate the analyzer is operating properly. The alignment tool is the only device that requires inspection at a qualified metrology lab to verify the values in the tool are within specified tolerance.
