| Other than manually entering the VP value from a catalog or specification
reference, a method known as Auto Velocity or “Learn VP”
is available via the Model ESP. The ESP and ESP+ Operating Guides
provide the following details:
Method 1 – Auto Velocity
This method requires a known length of a cable to be attached to
the ESP that is the same type that will be tested. The more accurate
the known length of the sample is, the more accurate the determined
velocity will be.
The length units will be based on the current display mode setting
(see Display Mode).
From the “ENTER VALUE” screen, press the
“TEST” button. The ESP will display the following screen.
